RIGHT OLD DOG'S DINNER AS RSPCA PUTS BAN ON TESCO'S GAME MEAT(cutting from The Countryman's Weekly no credits August 3rd 1001) If anyone seriously believes that the RSPCA favours shooting over hunting, then the organisation's recent attempt to influence supermarket giant Tesco will give cause for grave concern. The British Association for Shooting and Conservation Journal recently drew attention to the RSPCA's blackmail attempt. It demanded that Tesco withdraw dog food containing game meat from its shelves. At the moment the RSPCA endorses many supermarket products, but a number of activists wthin the organisation are known to be unhappy about this and there is an anti-farming culture emerging within the society. It is suggested the RSPCA will remove endorsement, which reads "Tesco and the RSPCA working together for responsible pet ownership." The organisation told the Daily Express "If animals were shot for sport, then Tesco will have to withdraw the product." There are fears that the RSPCA will quickly move on to other meat products and pursue as vegetarian agenda in the light of statements made by influential members who wish to be elected to the RSPCA council./cutting ends ******************************************************************* Is it not a matter of great wonderment that game...not infected with anything noxious diseases is to be banned from animal food!! Have a look at the Animadversion site re theFreedom food the RSPCA does endorse!!! We also have a video of the awful conditions on farms endorsed by this organisation where hens, although not in batteries are so tightly packed and not allowed out into the fresh air that they may just as well be...maybe its even worse! I am about to ring Tesco to ask them if they are selling Iams dog food made by Proctor and Gamble the subject of a petition floating around the net as they according to the Express carry out horrible experiments on animals.. The RSPCA said they would be severing their links with this dog food yet we are told often that thee are RSPCA blurbs on this food on the shelves in Sainsbury's and other shops across the country. Have you seen any. Perhaps this is what has occasioned the stickers on the back of the lavatory doors in Sainsbury's? |
