RSPCA WITH £140m in the bank say op is too expensive!

Remember the poor little dog in Liverpool too

A dog trainer has accused two animal charities of leaving her award-winning border collie in agony after refusing to fund a major hip operation.

Nina Murray-Dyer claimed she was told by the RSPCA and the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals that the £3,000 operation for her eight-year-old dog Moss was too expensive.

Arthritis sufferer Mrs Murray-Dyer (pictured with Moss), of Matchborough West, Redditch, said she was unable to pay for the operation to solve Moss's hip dysplasia and turned to the charities for help.

Moss had developed a reputation as one of the UK's top award-winning agility champions before it was discovered he had the debilitating condition.

She said the PDSA carried out X-rays to confirm the condition but then backed away from the operation. She added: "Because it was a costly op, it was not prepared to do it

The PDSA even suggested Moss should be re-homed as an alternative option, but that was completely out the question."

She said she was also turned down by the RSPCA.

An RSPCA spokesman said: "This is a very sad and desperately unfortunate case, but the operation was too costly."

PDSA spokesman Geraldine Stewart said: "Sadly, we do not have the resources to provide or fund this surgery."/cutting ends
