Jobs with the dogs September 10th 2001

A beautiful Autumn day dawned. Good the Monday washing will dry nicely today.

The dogs were out early celebrating the sunshine and I brought back lots of compost from the top garden to put on the front rose garden.

I hope Julian will manage to avoid trailing the sheets across the tractor when he brings the onions down. We have to get the onions into the building. Helping this morning in the vegetable garden is Chaucer, Bluebelle (when she' good and Bluebottle when she's naughty!) and Buttercup. There are so many onions we have to get them onto a galvanised sheet of metal to put on the trailer...Its actually one of the dogs' beds but is very strong and useful trailer.

Erik will be pleased to see this video and know we're keeping his part of the garden in order whilst he's away. I haven't a clue how to string the onions I expect I can think of a crochet pattern that will do! Last year we hung the onions up in the kitchen and they all grew into huge plants very quickly the kitchen being kept quite warm. They were decorative and quite hollow inside!
