WELSH WITCH'S GARDEN JULY 2004

This taken in the evening when it wasn't raining for a few minutes. There is still a small box of nicotiana to plant yet. On the old henhouse the rose Felicity et Perpetué blossoms still after much dead heading. I've moved the pots of Datura just by the nest boxes. These Datura here were surrounded by what was described on the packet of seeds as "a blue carpet". The Datura haven't grown at all but the blue carpet is beautiful. I only wish I knew the flowers therein!

At the top right is varigated Gardeners' Glory in front of a solitary self setting Evening Primrose. There are ornamental allium which are dying off now, then golden day lilies with a darker gold centre. In front blue Veronica a couple of purple Verbascum, a white Veronica at the back. In the very front is gloriously coloured chicory, at least I think its chicory. I can't find it in the RHS Encyclopedia of Garden Plants.

Below one flower of the Magnolia Grandiflora. It always seems to rain and make these gorgeous flowers completely brown, but here's one we managed to catch in the puppy garden!
