WITCH'S GARDEN JULY 2004

Top of the East Walk. On the left Bear's Breeches (Acanthus). Behind that large clump is annual mallow and behind that Larkspur, Clarkia (not out yet) and Golden Rod.

In the centre of the volcano, Canary Creeper X three are climbing up the Cherry Tree. Behind them Evening primrose, Crocosmia Lucifer and Montbretia. In fromt of them, African Marigold, French Marigold.

On the right Flocks, Day Lilies and red salvia asnd evening pimrose which are allowed to grow where they will. The big Leylandii hedge is nearly all clipped. I must dead head the Alexander Giraullt over the arch way.......

Under the archway, round the corner and here we are in the Afternoon Garden: entering from the top right of this picture. In the pots and climbing therefrom...Morning Glory,Sweet Peas, and Canary Creeper. The Canary Creeper is a must for next year for two picturs. More climbing up the Leylandii, an more mixed with the purple Sweet Peas.

In this central bed. On the edge Nemesia, Petunia (I made the fatal mistake of putting the Nemesia in front of the Petunia and you can't see much of them now!

Starting from this end. Nemesis, Dianthus diamonds, Dianthus Rainbow Lovliness mixed, Asters Milady mixed, Asters Spider.

Further back Cana (not out yet) neither are the Fresias, but they're growing well. There are Larkspur, Cosmos, Cerinthe (really strange) Delphiniums, Veronica blue and pink.

Nothing has freally got going as yet. The greenhouse was a bit late.....but I have hopes for later.

Amongst the rhododendrums I've threaded sweet peas, some knee high in the small rhododendrums and large growing ones in the others.
