WELSH WITCH'S GARDEN JUNE 2004

June the month of roses and perfume everywhere, early morning, evening and night with the added smell of damp earth.

This is one of the four enormous Hymalian Musk roses.Under planted with Asters Spider, Aster Carpet Ball and Aster Milady mixed. In front of the Asters is a double row of Dianthus Rainbow Lovelines mixed these specially selected for perfume, and at the very front Nemesia.

This is Plein de Grāce presumably the French version from the RC prayer "Ave Maria gratia plena"

(Hail Mary full of grace). It measures about 10 feet across and 6 feet high. Its really beautiful and again knock out perfume.. This is on the north entrance to the Magic Circle garden.

Over the south entrance "Seagull" and an anonymous pink rose. The east entrance has the rose Parade, not so boisterous as the other two but flowers all summer long, also perfumed. On the west entrance Laurence Johnston ,yellow rose, a bit feeble...but the honeysuckle opposite is not!.

So altogether surrounding the Magic Circle...Laurence Johnston, Pink Groestondorst, Alexandra rose, Canary Bird, Roserie de L'Hay,anon pink, Seagull, Zepherin Drouhin, Agnes, Mrs Edward Harding huge lilac,...........................Parade, Fred Loads, Graham Thomas, Louis Odier, Sneezlewort, Plein de Grâce, anon pink (again) rose rugosa (huge flat pink roses delightful perfume
